Dumb Answer of
the Week
What Happens When You Speak Before You
Think
January 8th - January 14th, 2011

FOX's winter quasi-phenomenon, The Million Dollar
Money Drop has produced its share of moments in a relatively short time.
Few can forget the Post-It controversy from the show's very first
episode. Few also will forget what they saw at the start of the 1/11/11
episode.
THAT'S a million dollars.
And THEY are the couple trying to win it. Give a big Game Show Garbage
hello to Anna & Anthony Sinopoli. They've been married for 7 years and
come from New York, NY.
"Because we're from New York, we have street smarts, and we're taking
that million dollars on the red eye home."
Frank Nicotero where have you gone?
Anyway after touching, holding and even...
Kissing the money, the game begins with a choice of categories.
Anthony cites that he's a big sports fan and, despite some hesitation
from Anna, Anthony declares they're going with Sports.
The 4 possible answers are:
A: "One Made by Anheuser-Busch"
B: "One Made by Dom Perignon"
C: "One Made by an Atlanta Soft Drink Company"
D: "One Made by Cows"
The question is:
As I did in my last 1 vs 100 dumb answer, I've included audio of the
reasoning and deductions made by Anna & Anthony...okay, it's mostly by
Anna.
Amazing how, Anna, who was questioning the
choice of sports, decides on the answer almost completely by herself. I
guess we know who wears the pants in the relationship.
So, they're going all in on the first question with B, "One Made by Dom
Perignon".
"God, this million dollars is heavy!" - Anna
Oh, it might not be as heavy as you think.
So to recap, they have nothing on "One Made by Anheuser-Busch",
$1,000,000 on "One Made by Dom Perignon", nothing on "One Made by an
Atlanta Soft Drink Company", and nothing on "One Made by Cows".
Host Kevin Pollak reminds them of the quick change that they can use
which gives them an additional 30 seconds to change how much money they
have on the answers.
Anthony feels like it might be a good idea to use the quick change, to
which his wife says...
Yep, this real housewife from New York
DEFINITELY wears the pants in the relationship.
Now that Anthony has his man card revoked, it's time
to step up and see just what drops. A million dollars is on the line.
Can they keep it and move on? We'll find out...right after this message
from America's Dairy Farmers.
Oh boy.
Let the million hit the floor.
I believe Jim McKay once referred to this as "the agony of defeat".
The answer, of course, was "One Made by Cows", milk.
So, they zonk out on the first question. And, after being shown the
exit, host Kevin Pollak says the following.
"Oh my, that was INCREDIBLE to see a million dollars drop on one
question! Horrible!"
Well, which was it? Incredible or horrible? This kind of hosting
obviously explains why he only lasted 1 season on Celebrity Poker
Showdown.
In the end, I guess you could call Anna & Anthony's one and done gamble
a...
