There's something about members of the armed forces and "Wheel of Fortune" that just lends itself to articles like the one you're about to read. I don't know if it's the bright lights, the cameras or what, but on an almost annual occurrence some of America's finest become America's dumbest on this classic game show.

Our newest case study involves Anna & Jonny who have amassed $2,000 from a Toss Up to this point.

Put down that VHS copy of "G.I. Jane", Pat. It IS a prize puzzle, and here it is.

Makeeka & Darren, on the far left, relinquished control after not being able to find a T. Greg & Glenn had success in putting letters on the board, but eventually they hit Bankrupt, and control passed to Anna & Jonny. Here's what the puzzle looks like when they take control of the wheel.



With a little luck and good fortune, they add 2 Ms, 1 S, 2 Es & 1 U to the puzzle. Remember that 1 U as you see the puzzle below.



With $1,600 in the till, Anna & Jonny spin and land on...

And just like that this dynamic duo has $15,600 in the bank. Jonny says they're going to solve the puzzle. Then, Anna does the honors.

Remember, she's protecting our freedom, folks. Okay, where do I begin?

Ah, yes...HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU GET "HONOLULU" OUT OF "_ O L O _ _ U L"?!?

And, what in the world is a local reef as opposed to say a regional reef or national reef?

Thankfully, Makeeka & Darren would pick up the pieces and solve the puzzle as...



And since it was a prize puzzle, they're each going to St. Croix to swim among their many local reefs.

Anna & Jonny would end up winning $5,000 so they didn't have a bad day, but oh what the day could have been. Had they solved the puzzle with the money they accumulated in that prize puzzle, they would have been the night's big winners. Instead, thanks mostly to Anna, they become the latest military personnel to win the Dumb Answer of the Week.
